The BBC has recently made available their archive of Desert Island Disc radio programmes. Desert Island Discs has been broadcast by the BBC since 1942 and Raymond Briggs was the guest on the programme on two occasions. First of all interviewed in  June 1983 by Roy Plomley, the creator of the programme, and then again  in March 2005 by presenter Sue Lawley.  He talked a lot about Ethel and Ernest in the second broadcast and chose a wide range of  recordings to take to his desert island, including The Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band, Tom Waits, and Jan Garbarek.
