Ethel and Ernest - the movie, Stephan Roelants, Uncategorized
Ethel and Ernest has won the best feature film prize at the International Animated Film Festival held at Meknès in Morocco.
Co-producer of the film, Stéphan Roelants from Melusine productions in Luxembourg, was at the festival to accept the award.

There were five feature films in the category. The other four films in competition were Bill Plympton’s Revengeance (2016), The Red Turtle (2016), Window Horses (2016) by Canadian Ann Marie Fleming, and African Tales by Djilali Beskri.

Today, March 2nd, is World Book Day and to mark the occasion Raymond Briggs reflects on some of his most famous creations, The Snowman, Fungus the Bogeyman, and Ethel and Ernest. There is also a rare glimpse of the book he has been working on for a number of years called ‘Time For Lights Out’.

Chicago European Film Festival, Ethel and Ernest - the movie, Uncategorized
Ethel and Ernest are heading for Chicago ! The film will be representing the UK in the Chicago European Union Film Festival (March 3rd – 30th 2017). It will have two screenings at the Gene Siskel Film Centre.
In January Ethel and Ernest was introduced to US audiences at the Palm Springs International Film Festival. See blog report here.

Ethel and Ernest - the movie, Lupus Films, Uncategorized
Ethel and Ernest is being entered into a number of film festivals in 2017. The ones coming up in the next couple of months are in Holland, Belgium, Luxembourg, Bulgaria and Hong Kong.
The European Union Film Festival (EUFF) in Hong Kong is organised on behalf of the EU. Every year the European Union Office to Hong Kong, together with the EU Member States and Switzerland, organise this festival for the pleasure of Hong Kong’s film lovers. One film from sixteen countries has been chosen, and the British Council have put forward Ethel and Ernest to represent the UK. Last year’s UK film selection was 45 years, starring Charlotte Rampling and Tom Courtney. Lupus Films will be represented at the festival by producer Camilla Deakin.
Ethel and Ernest will also be at the Holland Animation Film Festival , The Luxembourg Film Festival, and has been chosen as the closing night film of Anima 2017, which is held in Brussels. The film will also be screened in the Sofia International Film Festival/Bulgaria (9-19 March).
